Unless you’re a horror fan, you might be missing out on one of the coolest games current cinematic universes Today. It is You are from the West X trilogywhich started with X, continued with Pearl, and July 5 to end by MaXXXine.
Pick up after the events In the first two films, we see that adult film star Maxine Minx has finally arrived in Hollywood, only to find herself in a familiar situation: surrounded by numerous gruesome murders. Mia Goth returns in the title role and is joined by a who’s who of awesome actors who promise to close out this trilogy in the biggest, most 1980s-esque way possible. The first trailer for this certainly sets the tone and mood, but here we know a little more about the story. Maxine sees the devil? Is she the killer? Or is it someone else? Is she actually living out her dreams of fame or is it all in her head? Not everything is clear, but it’s clear that West has a big finale in store after the previous two films.
MaXXXine starring Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito and Kevin Bacon, and it opens July 5. And, if you want to know more about this unique cinematic universe, A24 reissues X for one night only on June 18. It will end with a special preview of MaXXXine in the post-credits.
