Over the past 12 months, the all-items index rose 4.9% before seasonal adjustment, the lowest 12-month increase since the period ending April 2021.
The US consumer price index for all urban consumers rose 0.4% in April on a seasonally adjusted basis, after rising 0.1% in March. The clothing index rose 0.3% from the March figure. The household equipment index also rose. The energy index rose 0.6% in April after falling 3.5% in March.
