A Mercedes-Benz factory in Sindelfingen, Germany was the site of a deadly shooting on Thursday.
Police received their first calls reporting the deadly incident around 7:45 am on Thursday.
“This morning, shots were fired at the factory premises in Sindelfingen. Two people were injured, one of whom has already died,” said a spokesman for the Stuttgart prosecutor.
The second victim later succumbed to his injuries and died.

The suspect is a 53-year-old man who worked at the sprawling factory in Sindelfingen, near Stuttgart.

The factory employs over 35,000 workers and produces a wide range of luxury sedans for Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz said the company was “deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic news” in a press release.

“Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and all colleagues at the scene,” the automaker added.

The alleged shooter was arrested, but the motive has not yet been disclosed.
