Trump says Biden ‘surrounded by fascists’ at New Jersey rally, campaign trail returns amid silent trial

Former President Donald Trump said Saturday night that President Biden was “surrounded by fascists” in the White House, leading a “radicalized” Democratic Party, tearing apart his response to anti-Israel protests on campus.

“He is surrendering our college campuses to anarchists, jihadists and anti-American extremists who are trying to tear down our American flag,” Trump told a crowd of tens of thousands in Wildwood, New Jersey. “They want to tear down every place they go. They want to tear down our flag. The chaos and violence happening right now on our college campuses is because crooked Joe Biden doesn’t know what he’s doing. Joe is weak .

“He’s surrounded by fascists around the Oval Office. That’s not him,” Trump added. “He’s not very successful at cheating in elections. He’s not standing up to our enemies abroad. And he’s not standing up to the extremists in his own party, the Democratic Party is becoming radicalized. It’s becoming a radical left , and they will lose our country.

Speaking before what his team considered a “mega crowd” about 150 miles south of the New York courthouse, where he was forced to spend most of his days sitting in silence during his hush money trial , Trump also claimed that “the same people who are funding” the violent campus uprisings are also funding Joe Biden’s campaign. »

“These people that you see putting up all this money for all these signs, you know, you can always tell a fake protest when every sign is beautifully done by a printer, all the green signs the same color, everything,” Trump said . “Tonight, I am officially calling on Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee to return the donations from all the anti-Semites, America-haters, and chaos financiers who financed chaos on our campuses. Give the money back, Joe. They raised a lot silver.”

The seaside rally, described by Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., as the largest political rally in state history, was designed to serve as a show of force at a critical time for Trump , who faces dozens of criminal charges in four separate criminal cases less than six months before the election.

Lisa Fagan, a spokeswoman for the city of Wildwood, told The Associated Press that she estimated a crowd of between 80,000 and 100,000 attendees, based on her own observations at the scene Saturday, after seeing ” dozens” of other events in the same space.
