UP Warriorz vice-captain Deepti Sharma showed great presence of mind in the first leg of the current game against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday. She stunned MI batsman Issy Wong with her intelligence and dismissed his run-out in the final innings.
Issy Wong looked in good touch as she scored 32 points on 19 balls for the Mumbai Indians. She batted with number 10 hitter Jintimani Kalita in the final against Deepti Sharma.
Wong broke a six and a four in the overs. She connected the fourth ball well and tried to take two points. His partner Kalita wasn’t too interested in the second set. Kalita was ready to sacrifice her wicket as the throw came from the bottom to bowler Deepti Sharma.
Surprisingly enough, Deepti didn’t dislodge the sureties from the non-attacking side. Instead, she tossed the ball quickly towards the striker’s end and hit the stumps. Issy Wong was taken aback and had to return to the pavilion.

Sharma quickly picked up the ball and threw it towards the non-attacking end. She hit the target again, Ishaque doesn’t hit the target this time. Ishaque was run out for zero runs. The Mumbai Indians were all out for 127, thanks to Deepti’s two outings.
