Samsung is hosting a huge memory card sale on Amazon

We’ve all seen that dreaded message: “Phone memory full”. And that always seems to happen when we try to take a quick shot of something – never when we have time to delete images. Good news: an SD card (aka memory card) might be enough. If your phone allows for expandable storage (as many Android phones do; sorry, iPhone users), you can insert an SD (secure digital) card to overcome your memory issues. Right now, Amazon offers Samsung cards at pretty substantial prices, including a 128GB SD card for just $14 and higher capacity options for a bit more, including this 512GB version for $45. (instead of $85). It’s almost 50% off!

Sure, it might not be the fastest read/write sequence, but it’s more than enough to give you a boost when you have too much recorded footage.

How much memory does your phone have? Many entry-level smartphones only offer 64 GB of memory, which is far from enough. Believe me, I have a 32GB iPad and the operating system alone takes up most of that space. Like all other Apple products, it does not allow expandable memory, so the only option to get more memory is to buy a new one.

Android users are in a much better position. Although it varies from model to model, many Android phones allow you to plug in an SD card to boost your phone’s memory. This not only makes it easier to fix storage issues but also to transfer data from your phone. For example, you can move all the photos you want to keep to the SD card and then plug it into a computer to transfer the data.

This 128GB model from Samsung has high transfer speeds and is backed by a 10-year warranty. What does this mean for you? Simple: you don’t have to wait for data to leave the card, and you can count on it to last for years – honestly, probably longer than your phone itself will last.

These also serve as storage for other purposes as well. One user said: “Samsung has now become my preferred memory supplier over Sandisk. The value for money is fantastic, and this card proved to meet all advertised speeds in my limited testing. A great option to expand Steam Deck storage, although I would have liked a 1TB version. Note that Samsung also offers a free utility to verify authenticity – a great tool considering the high amounts of counterfeits in the global market.

Another user reported that, for them, Samsung is the only way forward. “Great products as always from Samsung. I love their SD cards; that’s all I use now. I’ve tried them all and had issues with all but Samsung. They are always fast and reliable !”

This SD card gives you an extra 512GB to work with – more than the full storage of another phone or two.
