Rivals Camp Series Indianapolis: recruiting rumor mill around LB/DB

INDIANAPOLIS – THE Camp Rivals Series The stop in Indianapolis brought a flashy group of linebackers and defensive backs from the Midwest and beyond on Sunday. There was also recruiting news coming from this group.

Here’s the latest on several of these top prospects.

Jussiah Williams-West

It won’t be long before we see a big move from Williams-West. The three-star safety tells me he’ll make a commitment “next month” and as things stand, the decision will be between Minnesota, Louisville and Kentucky.

He says all three programs have shown him that they have a “brotherhood” on the roster and that everyone has a chance to land their commitment.

Omari Bledsoe

Omari Bledsoe

Bledsoe definitely catches your eye with its size and length. The Lipscomb Academy defensive back has now surpassed the 10 offer mark, a number that is expected to continue to rise.

Right now, Bledsoe says Michigan State and Miami are the programs at the forefront of his recruitment because of staff communication and fan support. West Virginia and Missouri are pushing for a visit and he hopes to learn more about them in the coming months.

Bledsoe will take his time with his recruiting and doesn’t anticipate any major decisions for some time.

Cam Thomas

Cam Thomas

There are a number of programs in the area that are involved with Thomas. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound outside back has more than 20 offers and is looking to add more to his roster.

Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Kentucky and West Virginia have all offered and are showing their love on a consistent basis. Thomas will visit Ohio State and Notre Dame in hopes of receiving offers from each.

What will be interesting is to see where all of these programs project Thomas’ best academic position. He said some coaches have expressed interest at outside linebacker while others have been at inside linebacker.

Keenan Harris

Keenan Harris

The top performing linebacker of the event, Harris stood out in a big way. The Rivals250 prospect holds over 20 offers from some big hitters.

Throughout the spring, Harris received offers from Oklahoma, Auburn, Tennessee, Iowa, USC, Georgia Tech, Oregon and others. In the coming weeks, he will travel to Illinois, Iowa, Ohio State and Alabama to attend camps.

Andrew Lovett

Andrew Lovett

It will be difficult for any program to lure Lovett away from committing to Illinois. The 6-foot-1 athlete dwelled on his support for the Illini and his comfort in his recent commitment decision. However, that didn’t stop the programs from staying in touch.

Michigan State, Purdue and Louisville have been persistent in their communication with Lovett since his commitment in March. He tells them he feels good about his promise.
