Tank players find it hard to Monitor 2 after the last patch broke a few key heroes for the role. If you’re a primary Sigma or Doomfist, you’ll need to spend some time on another hero or role, as one is broken and the other has been removed from competitive play entirely.
Week in Games: Return to Hyrule

The patch was supposed to be a bit of routine balance maintenance which also added the Starwatch 4v4 event mode, but it caused issues for the two Talon tanks that players have to work around when choosing roles. While Doomfist most players could take or leave, Sigma is a pretty big pick in competitive play, so it has far-reaching consequences.
Players are reporting issues with Doomfist’s Power Block ability, which is supposed to reduce damage, slow movement speed, and charge up his Rocket Punch move when he comes under enemy fire. However, the ability does not reduce damage much at this time. I’ve seen Doomfist survive a D.Va self-destruct using Power Block with some excess health buildup, but now it seems the move just doesn’t protect Doomfist from anything.
Sigma’s problems are so bad that Blizzard has removed gravity-obsessed mad scientist from competitive modes until he can work things out. In the latest patch, players found they could make Sigma fly forever using his Gravitic Flux ultimate ability. Under normal circumstances, the hero is able to fly for a brief window while casting this ability, but since the last patch players have been able to fly forever after using the attack.
At the moment, Sigma has only been removed from ranked games, but the problem is still present in Quick Play. While the glitch is fun, it’s just as broken in unranked matches, so I’m surprised Blizzard didn’t completely remove Sigma from the game. It wouldn’t be the first time the team did this, because May And Bastion were both taken from Monitor 2 after a few bugs with their kits were discovered last year.
The irony of it all is that both Sigma and Doomfist are the stars of Monitor 2It is star wars-inspired event show stars, which launched earlier this week. Aim for the AI-controlled Doomfist, folks. He can no longer block your shots.
