German brand Adidas and Arsenal unveil 2023-24 home shirt

Adidas and Arsenal have unveiled Arsenal’s home shirt for the 2023-24 season, marking the 20e anniversary of the ‘Invincibles’ season with a bold new look. Drawing inspiration from the design of the kit worn by the record-breaking team, the jersey features a striking new shade of red offset with a white sleeve and a lightning bolt pattern that flows vertically from top to bottom.

The new kit draws on the spirit and attitude of the 2003-04 ‘Invincibles’ squad, marking the start of the 20e anniversary of Arsenal’s unbeaten season in the Premier League. The Arsenal crest, Adidas logo and three stripes on each sleeve are all gold, and the team’s record of 26 wins and 12 draws in 38 games during this historic season is engraved on the side of the authentic version of the kit.

The unveiling of Arsenal’s home shirt for the 2023-24 season, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the ‘Invincibles’ season, shows off a bold new design inspired by the kit worn by the team. The shirt features a fresh take on Arsenal’s signature red colour, incorporating a new shade. It is complemented by a white sleeve, creating a striking contrast.

“Playing in this season twenty years ago, surrounded by so many wonderful players is something I will never forget, and it’s great to see that we are celebrating our club’s history by releasing this new home shirt – something that I think all the fans will really like,” Ray Parlor, Arsenal legend, said.

The field version of the jersey is constructed with HEAT.RDY technology, optimized for players to feel comfortable while playing on the biggest stage thanks to breathable fabric technology that wicks moisture and dries quickly. The supporter version of the jersey features Aeroready technology, which uses sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to keep the body dry.

A minimum of 70% of this product is a mix of recycled and renewable materials, continuing Adidas’ ongoing commitment to help end plastic waste. Earlier this year, Adidas announced it was ahead of its plan to replace virgin polyester with recycled polyester in its products wherever possible by the end of 2024. In 2022, 96% of all Polyester used by Adidas was recycled, the company said in a statement.

The new kit will be worn on the pitch for the first time when Arsenal Women take on Aston Villa in the final WSL game of the season on May 27. The men’s team will also wear the new kit in their final Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in May. 28.
