Dungeons & Dragons reveals plans for 24-hour streaming channels

Hasbro announced that it was deploying Dungeons & Dragons Adventure, a new ad-supported free-to-air TV channel that will feature a variety of shows from familiar faces. Although Entertainment One (eOne, the video media and games arm of Hasbro) has yet to announce the distribution, Variety reports that it is “planned to be available” on multiple platforms.

First in the order of initiative are three “celebrity-focused unscripted series,” which include the cast of the AP podcast dating party return for a fully produced video hotspot; Faster, purple worm! Kill! Kill! by Matthew Lillard; and culinary series heroes party. Additionally, Hasbro says the channel will feature both older content like 1980s animation Dungeons & Dragons series, as well as “third-high content internet creators and influencers with a focus on live gameplay.

dating party will feature the original podcast creators, including Ned Donovan and Khary Payton (The Walking Dead). It will be an original J&D campaign in the Forgotten Realms. Faster, purple worm! Kill! Kill! is an improvisational variety show using J&D characters as players act out dying in monster encounters. It is filmed in front of a live audience. heroes party is a cooking contest/talk show based on the recipes of heroes party recipe book.

Although these three shows are professionally produced and have been in the works for a long time, it will be very interesting to see which “internet creators and influencers” are being asked to be part of this channel. There is no release date for this channel yet.
