Bangladesh’s Adamjee EPZ to get $12.2 mn garment accessory factory

Chinese company Cherry Button Limited is going to establish a garments accessories manufacturing industry in Adamjee economic processing zone (EPZ) with an investment of $12.2 million. Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Cherry Button Limited signed an agreement to this effect at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka, recently.

The fully foreign owned company will produce 1,650 million pieces of metal buttons, plastic buttons, metal zippers, vislon zippers, nylon coil zippers, and other accessories like eyelets, rivets, stoppers, badges, buckles, suspender buckles, etc annually. The company is expected to create job opportunities for 1,068 Bangladeshis, BEPZA said in a press release.

The project is set to create 1,068 jobs locally.
The facility will annually produce 1,650 million pieces of various garment accessories including metal and plastic buttons, zippers, and more.

Member (investment promotion) of BEPZA Ali Reza Mazid and chairman of Cherry Button Limited MA Miaoyan (Jasika) signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Executive chairman of BEPZA major general Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman observed the agreement signing ceremony.
