A massive explosion rocked a street in the northern Italian city of Milan on Thursday morning, injuring one person and setting several vehicles on fire, firefighters said. No one was reported dead.
Italian media said the blast was suspected to have originated in a van carrying oxygen canisters, according to Reuters.
SkyTG24 television broadcast footage from the Porta Romana district of Milan, showing tall plumes of black smoke and firefighters at the scene.
Videos posted on social media showed several burning vehicles in the middle of the street as people filmed the aftermath on their smartphones

A kindergarten and residential buildings were evacuated, the Associated Press reported. The children from the nursery were evacuated without incident, according to Sky.

The injured person was a victim of smoke inhalation.
